1. Who We Are
WisdomChat is a product of GetSetAI, a company registered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. WisdomChat provides an AI-powered personal shopper and customer support platform for Shopify merchants.

2. Data We Collect
2.1 Merchant Account Data
When you sign up for WisdomChat we collect:
- Name and email address
- Shopify store name and domain
- Subscription plan, billing cycle, and payment history (processed via Razorpay)
- Shopify OAuth access token (stored securely, used only to fetch store data)
2.2 Shopify Store Data
Via your authorisation, WisdomChat reads the following data from your Shopify store (OAuth scopes: read_products, read_orders, read_discounts):
- Product catalogue (names, descriptions, prices, variants, images)
- Order history (used for order lookup in the chat widget)
- Discount codes and rules (used for discount campaign triggers)
This data is fetched on demand to power AI responses. It is not sold or shared with third parties.
2.3 End-Customer Chat Data
When a visitor interacts with the WisdomChat widget on your storefront, we collect:
- Chat messages and conversation history
- An anonymous visitor ID (stored as a browser cookie — no login required)
- Browsing behaviour signals: page visited, product viewed, add-to-cart events
- Purchase intent classification (AI-generated, based on conversation content)
- CSAT survey responses (if submitted after a conversation)
Note for merchants: You are the data controller for your end-customers' chat data. WisdomChat acts as a data processor on your behalf. You are responsible for informing your customers that chat interactions are handled by an AI system and stored by a third-party service.
2.4 Knowledge Base Documents
Documents you upload to the Knowledge Base (PDFs, FAQs, policies, size guides) are indexed and stored as vector embeddings to power AI responses. These remain stored until you delete them from the dashboard or your account is terminated.
2.5 Usage & Analytics Data
We collect platform usage metrics including conversation counts, escalation rates, sentiment scores, and conversion analytics. This data is used to provide your dashboard reports and to improve the platform.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To power AI-generated responses in your chat widget
- To provide product recommendations and discount campaign triggers
- To generate the analytics and performance reports in your dashboard
- To process subscription payments and send billing notifications
- To send transactional emails (invitation, escalation alerts, CSAT follow-ups)
- To improve the WisdomChat platform and AI models
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell your data to any third party.
4. Data Retention
- Conversation history and chat messages: Retained for 90 days from the date of each conversation, then permanently deleted.
- Knowledge Base documents and vector embeddings: Retained until you delete them from your dashboard or your account is terminated.
- Account and billing data: Retained for the duration of your subscription and for a reasonable period thereafter as required for financial record-keeping.
- Suspended or inactive organisations: If your account is suspended or cancelled, all data — including conversation history, Knowledge Base embeddings, and analytics — is retained for 90 days from the date of suspension or cancellation, then permanently and irreversibly deleted.
- Auth tokens: Expire automatically after 7 days.
- Invitation links: Expire after 48 hours.
5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Processors
We share data only with the following processors, under strict confidentiality agreements:
- Razorpay — payment processing. Razorpay handles all card data; WisdomChat never stores raw payment credentials.
- Amazon Web Services (AWS) — cloud hosting and database storage (region: ap-southeast-2, Sydney).
We do not share your data with any other third party without your explicit consent.
6. Cookies
WisdomChat uses cookies for authentication (HTTP-only, 7-day expiry). The chat widget embedded on your storefront sets an anonymous visitor ID cookie in your customers' browsers to maintain conversation continuity. No advertising or tracking cookies are used.

7. Your Rights
As a merchant using WisdomChat, you may:
- Request a copy of the data we hold about your account
- Request correction of inaccurate account data
- Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Disconnect your Shopify store at any time from the dashboard
To exercise these rights, email support@getsetai.ai with the subject line "Data Request". We will respond within 30 days.
End-customer data requests: WisdomChat does not have a direct relationship with your storefront visitors. If an end-customer requests deletion of their chat data, please submit the request on their behalf to the email above.
8. Security
All data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest using AES-256 encryption. We access only the Shopify OAuth scopes required for WisdomChat to function. Our infrastructure is hosted on AWS with regular security reviews.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or via a notice in your dashboard at least 14 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of WisdomChat after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
10. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India. Any disputes arising under this policy shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India.
